I am a Lecturer of Data Analytics in the School of Business at the State University of New York College at Geneseo. I received my Ph.D. in Economics from the University of California, Riverside.
My research spans political economy, political communication and behavior, and computational social science.
I combine causal inference with natural language processing and computer vision to study how party pressure and constituency interests shape representation in Congress and what these dynamics reveal about the strains on democratic accountability. I use survey experiments to examine how generative AI reshapes voters’ perceptions of politicians through cues of charisma and co-partisanship. I also conduct research on policy evaluation, political donations, and causal inference using text embeddings.
